Earth Seed of Air: Aspiration

“Within everything is the seed of everything. All that is without thee also is within.” Solomon Trismosin, Alchemical Wanderings,Dr. John Munford, “Magical Tattwas”.

The deep reality of our lives is dependant on an awareness of the ease created by mixing all the elements of intuitions and reason, creativity, and order in the foundation of what we build, always shaping our lives with the balance of elements forming the philosopher’s stone, as the keystone of all human endeavor.

As we build and form a foundation for our future Earth and Air should mix loosely, always coaxing them into a state of cohabitation and co-operation. This day has been an unexpected turn of direction, as we all prepared our home for the winter play of the grandchildren.

A new periwinkle foundation was laid down on the playroom floor, and will also, this week, be put down on the kitchen floor. Moving from purple (ether) to periwinkle (air) for our foundation. Space and room now established, we now move to aspiration.

“Air, the seed, is the deep well-spring of inspiration (filled with the spirit) and the driving force of aspiration.” Dr. John Munford, “Magical Tattwas”.

We  then spent the day sorting and organizing the toys (tools of creativity) so the playroom and playhouse could support the children’s next level of play. Play, “being the most political act one can do”, Nancy Blair, “Amulets of the Goddess”, we know that we are, too, building a good base for the future.

It was magical as we brought the sorted baskets back into the playroom. All the toys were like new to the children and they ran over and hugged us. Children’s play in a home creates a continual weaving of elements, firing the furnace of alchemical desire.

The playroom, being the “alchemist’s lab oratory, a temple of unceasing work”, Dr. John Munford. “Tis to create and in creating live, a being more intense than, that we endow with form and fancy, gaining as we give”. Byron Childe Harold III; VI

“Our culture has divorced mind and body (Cartesian dualism), brain and spinal cord (instinct), cerebral cortex and limbic system (appropriateness); slain intuition (“inner tutor”) for logic, and crasted emotion for thinking. Dr. John Munford, “A Chakra and Kundalini Workbook”.

So the placement of small children in the center of our home was an inspired gesture, of a universal alchemist that has guided our work for 20 years. How powerful the unknown is when it becomes clear.

  1. This is just so incredible -- what a beautiful insight & understanding of the deep reality that guides us & that we live within. These words dissolve the distractions that don't support or recognize the "power of play" and the alchemy that we have all committed to. Thank you, thank you -- for the encouragement & reminder!!

  2. Suzanne, this was so fun to write because I learned all this in the writing. It was a powerful alchemy of the word. Thank you so much for allowing the power of such a young world to fill your days and nurture your soul.
